It is a glorious day, or rather week, as these things take time. Our mediocre beige builder-grade kitchen tile is being replaced with beautiful large square charcoal tiles with dark grout. Yippee. No more strapping on knee pads and spending Saturday afternoon scrubbing grout lines with a toothbrush. My one request when we moved from Seattle to Dallas 4 years ago was a white kitchen with dark hardwood floors. I got a dark kitchen with light colored tile floor.
But there's no gain with no pain, right? Currently the kitchen looks like a Dexter kill room and I'm relegated to the bedroom with microwaved oatmeal.
But visions of this will get me through the days.

Love your inspiration photos for the floors. If you go with tile, I think you can’t go wrong with a nice, dark simple gray tile. I look forward to seeing the result!
